Rod Barajas cracked a homer and had 2 RBI as the Tampico Stogies outscored the
slumping Streator Reds 5 to 3.
Tampico took the lead for good in the 5th inning scoring a single run
utilizing 2 base hits. After two were out Brett Gardner doubled. Scott
Kazmir then unleashed a wild pitch. Jeff Keppinger then doubled. Streator
had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Ryan Dempster(8-8) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Dempster got help from Frank Francisco who was credited with his 17th save.
Kazmir(0-1) was the loser.
'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Ralph Madara said. 'We did
what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
